The Key to a Personal, Easy-to-Use 12-lead ECG is in HeartBeam's VECG Technology

HeartBeam’s core vectorelectrocardiography (VECG) technology captures signals in 3 projections (X,Y,Z) to generate a complete 3D map of the heart’s electrical activity and converts them into an easy-to-interpret 12-lead ECG. The concept for HeartBeam’s technology was created by Dr. Branislav Vajdic, the co-inventor of flash memory, in collaboration with a Harvard-Beth Israel cardiologist and two nuclear physicists.

The team set out to make a patient-friendly, portable cardiac monitoring tool that could be used anywhere by patients, initially focusing on a huge unmet need of helping diagnose heart attacks outside of a medical setting. They designed a unique approach utilizing vectorcardiography technology to obtain all three electrical projections of the heart in a small form factor and developed a personalized method for synthesizing the data into a 12-lead ECG.

HeartBeam’s proprietary approach is well protected with 13 US patents and can be used as a platform technology with broad applications including use in extended wear patches, watches, continuous monitoring systems and with deep learning solutions.

The Benefits of VECG Technology

By applying AI to analyze these data-rich signals, HeartBeam will be able to provide physicians with unprecedented diagnostic and prognostic insights beyond a standard 12-lead ECG, including:
Improved diagnostic accuracy
Detection of complex rhythms, including ischemia*
Personalized cardiac insights through multiple readings captured over time
Identification of early signs of poor cardiac health

Proven Accuracy and Performance

A study published in JACC: Advances7 comparing HeartBeam’s VECG technology to standard 12-lead ECGs found that VECG is:

Equivalent to 12-lead ECG in identifying coronary occlusions

Highly accurate (AUC)
